Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center Visitor Guide: Metro, Entrances and Airport Connections

Metro access to Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC) from China Art Museum Station, Shibo Avenue Station and Yaohua Road Station.

The Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC) sits in the former Expo area of Pudong. Unlike NECC or SNIEC, it is best understood as a venue that can be approached from several metro stations, with the most convenient one depending on the entrance used by your event.

⚠️ ENTRANCE FIRST, STATION SECOND

SWEECC has several practical metro approaches. Check the event-designated entrance first, then choose the station and exit that match it. This avoids arriving on the wrong side of a large venue.

What You Can Find Here

Venue Location and Main Entrances

Commonly used venue addresses include:

  • South Entrance: 1099 Guozhan Road
  • North Entrance: 850 Bocheng Road

Different events may direct visitors to different entrances, so do not rely on the venue name alone when setting your route.

Also confirm:

  • South or North Entrance;
  • your exhibition hall;
  • whether forums and exhibition halls use the same entrance.

From China Art Museum Station

China Art Museum Station on Metro Line 8 is one of the commonly used access points for SWEECC.

Official visitor guides for large Shanghai events often use this station as one of the principal public-transport approaches to the venue.

The most convenient exit may vary with the event layout, so follow the organiser’s current directions.

From Shibo Avenue or Yaohua Road

Depending on the event and entrance, SWEECC can also be approached via:

  • Shibo Avenue Station on Metro Line 13
  • Yaohua Road Station on Metro Lines 7 and 8

Rather than choosing a station first, check your event entrance first and then select the station that best matches it.

From Airports and Railway Stations

Airport access to Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

SWEECC does not have the same “airport/rail hub next door” advantage as NECC in Hongqiao, so most visitors will use Shanghai’s metro network or road transport for the final part of the journey.

From Pudong Airport

Enter the city’s rail network, then follow the current route toward the Line 7, Line 8 or Line 13 stations serving the Expo area.

From Hongqiao Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station

The trip will usually involve travelling across the city and making at least one transfer.

With larger luggage

Taxi or ride-hailing can be more convenient if you:

  • have just arrived on an international flight;
  • are travelling in a group;
  • want to go to your hotel before the exhibition.

Fixed taxi times and prices are deliberately not included because traffic conditions can change significantly.

Food and Business Meetings

For a busy exhibition day, it can help to separate food into two categories.

Quick meals

Useful when you want to stay close to the venue and keep most of the day for the show.

Longer business meetings

If you need a proper discussion, consider arranging it:

  • after the exhibition;
  • in a nearby commercial area;
  • at a hotel or quieter restaurant.

This keeps a long meal from consuming the time you planned for the exhibition itself.

What to Confirm Before You Go

Before leaving your hotel, check:

  1. event date and opening hours;
  2. whether visitor pre-registration is complete;
  3. what ID or badge is required;
  4. the designated entrance;
  5. your hall;
  6. whether forums and exhibition areas use different entrances;
  7. any temporary metro or traffic notices.

If the organiser publishes a current Visitor Guide, use that for the final event-day details rather than relying only on a general transport article.

Before Publication

Metro exits, venue entrances and temporary event traffic arrangements can change and should be rechecked before publication.
